A key feature of the Trading Edge Dynamics® platform is the automated Alerts that are triggered depending on the Technical Analysis (TA) strategy that you select.

Different TA strategies will suit different trading or investment styles, however, changing strategy, either on the Setting page or by using the Strategy toggle, which is found on every page, will instantly reflect the Alerts for that strategy in all areas of the platform.

Our Market Scans offer a quick alternative of analysing the market with the ability to set parameters and combine active filters. You can easily find bullish trends, trend reversals, moving average crossovers, fast movers or stocks making year highs.

Market Scan results can be further filtered and saved to a Watclist where you can analyse them further or view charts.

The 5 star ratings feature enables you to tag stocks of interest into categories of your choosing so that you can easily find them later using a sort or filter search.

watchlist1Our watchlists offer the best way to keep all your stock lists, whether from a current portfolios or a new list you have developed and want to keep an eye on.

You can create and edit up to 10 watchlists each with capacity to hold 40 stocks. That’s up to 400 stocks you can easily access from all our reviewing pages.

watchlist2The powerful information provided in the watchlist give you everything you need to know about the TA status of your stocks.

You can keep your own notes column and you can sort columns for finding your best and worst performers or to monitor current trend direction and strength or to indicate the level of the trailing Alerts.

backtest2Run back-tests on one or more stocks simultaneously to test Alert performance over a user defined period with a range of user defined settings.

The back-testing simulation facility allows you to test a trend change strategy on any selected stocks in your Watchlist.

Although back-testing simulation can be a very useful tool in testing theoretical performance it is important to note that actual performance may vary and must not be relied upon.

Each week, the Editor runs 2 scans (Trend Reversals & EMA Crossings) and reviews TED’s Value Opportunities Watchlist (populated with fundamental value opportunities from Kalkine) to identify charts of interest for members.

As an additional service, the Editor also identifies trading opportunities from each of these 3 sources and highlights them as Editor’s Select Setups.  Each chart identified as an Editor’s Select Setup is ‘marked up’ with potential prices for Entries, Stops and Profit targets.

The Editor’s Select Setups information will:

  • allow new traders and members to gain a better understanding of the process of taking a trade using the TED platform
  • provide all members with the capacity to easily quantify risk and reward ratios for each Select Setup and help them analyse opportunities quickly.

Each Editors Select trade chart will have the following information highlighted on the chart:

Entry Price Marker An entry price will be within a set percentage of a recent triggered Alert i.e. the price will not have moved too far from the Alert trigger price even if the Alert triggered some time ago. Alternatively if a stock has been trending strongly and has subsequently retraced and formed a new support level it may be considered as a Editor’s Select trading opportunity.
Stop Loss Price Marker A stop loss exit price will usually be below a previous support level or within the Δ Zone depending on which level makes the most sense for a particular setup.
Profit Target Price Marker A Profit Target exit price will usually be just under a previous resistance level.
Trade Setup Summary A small information pane providing a little more information – for example a price indication may not be just one level but a price range.
